This week on the VO School Podcast, the tables were turned as students from Syracuse University asked me their questions about voiceover during a Q&A that covered a wide range of topics.
Tina Perkins, who teaches voiceover at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse, invited me to talk to her students about my experience in the industry and my thoughts on where it’s going next.
We ran the gamut, covering subjects such as characterization, accents and accent reduction, getting high-profile commercial contracts, production value, finding your niche, audition technique, how to read conversationally, reimagining characters, and career-ending mistakes.
