Moodle Admin Basics 15 Guest access to courses
How can guests access my courses?
If you want some courses on your Moodle site to be visible to non logged in users- that is guests - then you need to enable Guest access on the site as an administrator and then enable it in the course that you want guests to access. This video explains the course settings for Guest access. Watch our video on how can I allow guests on my Moodle? for the administrator settings. As an administrator or course teacher, enter the course you want guests to access; click the Participants link from the nav drawer on the left. Note we are using the standard Boost theme, and then from the icon click Enrolment methods. Open the eye of Guest access. This should be enough, but if you want to add a password you can do this by clicking the Settings icon and entering the password. We'll leave this for now. A non logged in user can access the course by clicking the link on your front page or, if you give them the course URL, by clicking that. Make sure you read about setting a site policy for guests.
To summarise:
• For guests to access your courses you need to enable Guest access for the site and for each course.
• Enable Guest access in Enrolment methods from the icon in the Participants screen
• Click the Settings icon for Guest access to add a password if desired.
