p5.js Tutorial - Animated Spiders
With Halloween just around the corner, I decided to make some animated spiders in p5.js. With creepy wriggling legs, mean eyes and vicious fangs, these feisty spiders descend from the canvas on their sticky web. Find out how I did it in this line-by-line guide to coding the procedures that make this fun and creepy-cool spider-cluster animation.
The code is fully annotated with details about the various procedures. I include some graphics in this tutorial to help visualize the process for all the things required to make a spider, and make its legs wriggle.
If you are new to p5.js, this will be a challenging tutorial. If you are familiar with the major concepts, this will be a fun exercise that will guide you through reducing the problem into tasks, turning those tasks into procedures and coding those in p5.js.
