Professional Multitrack Video Editing With Blender - Part One- A VERY SLOW Blender Tutorial

Correction: I selected two clips and added overdrop effect in the video. But I've just found that you can simply select the clip on the top layer and select Over Drop from the drop down menu in the properties panel on the right hand side. So now it's even easier to use PIP effect or multi-layered video track mixing.

This video might fulfil a long cherished desire to obtain a free multi-track video editor for many. For most of us Windows Movie Maker is just a very basic plaything that has been receiving constant cursing from all corners of the world. :))
In this tutorial ( part one ) for my friends, respected Senior Citizens, and dear viewers, I've shown how to accomplish some much needed professional effects in our home videos.
Things I've covered here are the following:
1. How to switch to the Video Editing mode.
2. How to import media files.
3. How to split a media file ( using K, the knife tool )
4. How to use crossfading effect from the Effect Strip.
5. How to change the playback speed of your clip individually.
6. How to reverse playback your clip to obtain a seamless video loop.
7. How to work with multiple layers with precision.( typing frame value )
9. How to resize a video
10. How to crop a video to highlight or zoom in over a specific part.
11. How to change offset ( position ) of a video and move it to the preferred location on the screen
12. How to Embed / Overlay/ mix multiple videos over the main video ( the thing we all want :) )
13. How to superimpose/ mix multiple video layers
14. How to flip a video in the timeline ( can be used as a mirror effect in your music videos ) :))
15. How to precisely add title / caption to your video.

18. How to set up a codec for video rendering. ( I've used an HD codec that matched the best with my source media)

21. How to mix /delete the original sound of your movie file.
22. How to adjust sound level, balance and pitch of your audio track.

To render your video,
1. Go back to the Default mode
2. Go to the render tab of the properties window
3. Click on animation.
4. Wait for some minutes till the screen halts at the last frame of your video.
5. Navigate to your Output folder /rendered directory
6. Your video will be in the rendered directory. Play with a media player.

Kindly watch It in HD and full screen. And pause/review as many times as you need.
Give blender a little time after importing the clips if you see your pc lags.
Work with short clips at first.
