My Friend Almost Sold 10,000 ICP… Then We Talked
My friend almost sold his 10,000 ICP today… then we talked. This is the follow-up to my recent video where I asked whether I should borrow money to buy his ICP. He came over ready to list the account and sell, but once we sat down and looked at the bigger picture, the conversation changed.
In this video, I explain why selling ICP right now may be one of the biggest mistakes an Internet Computer holder can make. My friend was focused on the staking APR being reduced, but I wanted him to see the larger opportunity: the possible asymmetric upside, the value of unrealized capital gains, and the difference between getting 6% on a small account today versus potentially getting 6% on a much larger ICP position in the future.
I also talk about why I decided not to buy his ICP myself, even though I could have already made money if I had. I already have a large ICP position, this ICP channel, and my crypto reviews channel, so I’m already heavily invested in Internet Computer financially and creatively.
The bigger message is patience. ICP holders are being tested right now. The price has been suppressed, the rest of crypto is full of noise, and it is easy to get tunnel vision and make a decision based on fear. But if ICP goes where I think it can go, selling too early may hurt far more than holding through the uncertainty.
