Measuring radiation in Japan - 'Safecast the largest citizen science project to date'
After the earthquake and resulting nuclear disaster in Japan, Safecast founders saw a need for more radiation data than what was available. Using their own DIY geiger counters, they have sucessfully built a radiation sensor network using static and mobile sensors around Japan. The data is free and available to everyone.
