Whether you are a beginner game dev looking to build their first game in Godot, or a pro Unity game developer, researching where the game development industry is headed can be a vital strategy.
I read through the entire 57 page Unity Game Development Report so that you don't have to. There are 5 key trends that seemed to emerge based on the Unity's data aggregation from 2022 game developers. In addition to the existing game dev trends, the report also attempts to make some predictions on where the game development industry may be headed in 2023.
This was a really interesting research experience on my learning game dev journey. As a hobbyist indie game dev myself, I try to find any gaming data or game development data that can help me release the best and most succesful indie game possible.
