Welcome to another video about WordPress Cron (WP Cron). In this video, I show how to automate tasks in WordPress as a recurring event by utilizing WP-Cron functions and hooks.
Scheduling events in WordPress is a task of utmost importance for all WordPress power users, not to mention WordPress developers. This is how we get to automate tasks (maintenance, updates, etc.) in WordPress as Admins or power users.
In this video, I insert a single WordPress Post every 10 seconds into the WP Database. Yes, this is not a very practical example, but this gives us a great proof of concept about setting up recurring events in WordPress using WP-Cron functions and hooks. Here, I also show how to create a custom time interval with other WordPress functions. Learning this would be a great part of your WordPress development experience.
