THE ULTIMATE TIMING CHALLENGE, by DRUMEO! A very exciting challenge that puts your time accuracy to the test!
It consists of playing grooves or improvising without missing the click. I think the goal is to have a solid tempo and a natural groove which is one of the most (if not the most) essential abilities in music, rather than trying to imitate a machine and playing everything perfect. The spaces between the notes are as important as the notes we play!
This is my version: I followed the 100bpm click track and did my best to keep my tempo. I had a lot of fun doing this, it was tough and required a lot of concentration (considering this is my 1st take), which reminds me that we should always practise this. I think it deals not only with getting used to the metronome but also enjoying the music and staying relaxed while listening. At least that’s what works well for me.
