This felt far from optimal, as I had a few compressor stalls and got caught off guard by some of the turns, but it's still my fastest time yet. It's also pretty important to speed up and get some "G warmup" turns in ASAP because the F-14 pilot is extremely susceptible to G-LOC if unprepared. This kills a lot of pilots (and admittedly myself too when I forget) in online dogfights. Once you're warmed up you can pull G like as much of a champ as the F-14 will allow, but only after the warmup.

One of the biggest tricks here is that instead of bleeding speed and energy for a very tight flat turn, you can pitch up instead and store some of the energy while also dramatically cutting down your turn circle as its projected onto the ground. This lets you come out of really tight turns (especially if you do it well) with a lot more energy and speed than if you had just slowed down and done the turn flat over the water.

There's a few places where I think it's optimal to cut in order to save time in the long run and keep your speed up. I checked the script and essentially it polls every 10 milliseconds while the trial is running, and collects the time you are over land. When you finish, the time you were over land gets multiplied by 5, so you want to make sure that every second you spend over land saves you more than 5 seconds of overall time.
