This is a little example how I planned a electronic project with a mounting case. First I draw all parts. It is recommend to check if the manufacturer has 3D CAD files for you. Then you can position you parts and check how you can mount all parts. In the last step I render photos or a video of the final preview. I used Autodesk Fusion 360. It is not so expensive like other 3D CAD Software.
