March 2nd, 2012. Full video of Henryville tornado. Begins as we are driving south on US 31, just south of Henryville. We come upon a clearing, looking west and see the tornado initially as a large wedge. Once we stop, it is very surreal as you can hear the peepers in the background. I tell people to stop and be ready to go back the other way. One woman tells me she has a basement to go to and drives right into path of tornado. In just about 4 short minutes, the tornado goes through several cyclic transformations before crossing interstate 65. It is then that it begins its destruction of Henryville, which is located just beyond the trees, looking north. Footage ends because second tornadic supercell is just minutes behind and slightly south of this first storm. We had to get a move to get out of its path.
