Highlight your instruments and go to the channel rack options. Create a layer. In the plugin wrapper for the layer, go to save state as...
Name and save in the directory it opens up-- hopefully it's still default.
In your other project, the browser has a section called channel presets. In there, your layer should be listed and you drag it in like an instrument. All the associated instruments will load.
You can safely delete the layer.
If you want to quickly assign them to mixer channels, highlight them in the channel rack and press Ctrl+L.
It's a good way to combine parts of orchestral templates you don't have in one project, or to work with your templates like legos.
NOTE
there’s an option in general settings to always open detached. That will make the plug-in windows open on your main monitor automatically, saving you from the redragging I mentioned.
