Ernst, who grew up in Burgenland, Austria, was looking for more than a rural life in his youth. He came into contact with drugs early on, starting with cannabis, followed by harder substances like ecstasy, speed, and ultimately heroin. His addiction led to multiple withdrawals and prison sentences. At the same time, he suffered from serious health problems such as ankylosing spondylitis and Crohn's disease.
He sought healing and spiritual fulfillment through esotericism and shamanism, particularly through ayahuasca ceremonies in Vienna and Peru. These provided short-term relief, but in the long run, they worsened his physical and mental condition. Ernst and his wife were deeply drawn into the world of shamans, which severely impacted their lives and finances.
The turning point came when, during a particularly dark and frightening ceremony, Ernst realized he was in a kind of spiritual imprisonment. After an overwhelming spiritual experience in which he felt touched by God, he began to turn to Jesus. Through Christian healing rooms and intense prayer, he experienced physical and spiritual healing. His wife also had similar experiences, which ultimately led her to the Christian faith.
Today, Ernst lives a healed and fulfilled life in service to others, helping people find liberation through Jesus Christ.
