To reduce charge loss, the Cadenassy principle is used—aerodynamic and acoustic tuning of exhaust ducts using the reflected wave of exhaust gases. To achieve this, an acoustic resonator is installed in the engine exhaust system, tuned so that some of the gases entering it are recirculated before the exhaust ports close. Furthermore, it can operate effectively in a narrow range of engine speeds—namely, the region where the gas jet resonates.
