In today's video, I'm going to teach you how to edit titles and meta descriptions on WordPress.com. This process is crucial for optimizing your site for search engines and ensuring that your content is accurately represented in search results, so let's dive right in.

First, open your web browser and navigate to the WordPress.com login page. You'll want to log into your account to access your website's dashboard. If you don't have an account yet, you can easily sign up by following the on-screen instructions provided by WordPress.

Once you're logged in, you'll see the WordPress dashboard. This is your starting point for making all kinds of edits and updates to your site. On the left-hand side, find and click on 'Plugins'. Plugins are additional tools that enhance the functionality of your website, and today we're going to make use of a particularly powerful one for SEO.

In the Plugins section, click on 'Add New'. There's a search box available, and you're going to type 'Yoast SEO' into it. Yoast SEO is a widely used plugin that provides real-time SEO suggestions and helps in optimizing your site efficiently. When the search results come up, select 'Yoast SEO - Advanced SEO with real-time guidance and built-in AI', and then click 'Install'. This will take a few moments, but once installation is complete, be sure to click 'Activate' to enable the plugin on your site.

Now that Yoast SEO is up and running, let's go back to the dashboard. From there, navigate to 'Pages'. Click on 'All Pages' to display a list of all the pages on your site. Choose the page you want to edit and click 'Edit' to open it in the WordPress editor.

In the editor, you'll notice a section dedicated to SEO settings, courtesy of the Yoast SEO plugin. Let’s start by editing the SEO title. Click on the field labeled 'SEO title'. This is the title that will be displayed in search engine results, so make sure it’s not only relevant but also enticing to users searching for content like yours.

Once you've adjusted the title, move on to the meta description, which is right underneath. Click on the 'Meta description' box to edit it. Your meta description should provide a brief summary of your content that includes relevant keywords. This snippet appears in search results beneath your SEO title, so keeping it compelling and informative is key to drawing in readers.

Finally, after updating both the SEO title and meta description, click 'Publish' to save your changes.

And there you have it! You’ve successfully edited the titles and meta descriptions for your WordPress.com site, enhancing its SEO potential. Remember, good SEO is an ongoing task, so it’s a good idea to periodically revisit and refine these elements to keep them fresh and relevant. Thanks for watching, and happy optimizing!
