"Where did the Teacher go?"
"Which way did he go?"
"Who knows where the Prophet is? Tell me!
He was here yesterday. Where did he go?.."
"Christ is not here." In this deserted place,
The question fell silent among the stones.
Where is He Who fed not two hundred,
Gave food to thousands of people?
The footprints of the good Teacher
It seemed impossible to find that day,
For there are so many of them in the sand.
Try to discern,
Which of them are Christ's.
But even if someone knew
And pointed out a special footprint,
I thought about it this way:
Well, they'll reach the sea,
And then? No Jesus.
They'll turn back, echoing:
"Probably the wrong trail."
It's not hard to recognize yourself, right?
In the question to the Lord: "Where are You?" To decide that the search is futile,
There is no way, I'm at a dead end.
It's much easier than to answer:
Let me walk on water.
It's so hard to notice the Lord
Walking, but not on land...
How can one know that the path leads to the sea?
Moses saw this.
In his gaze, meekest to heaven,
One prayer, the most important of all,
It's not a mistake to ask this:
"Reveal to me the way that is Yours,
I want to know You, Lord,
You Yourself go before me."
And God went, and others followed,
Shepherd, servant, warrior, king,
There were many of them, there are still many,
But then I remembered Hagar.
She fled from her mistress,
She wanted to justify herself,
But seeing the trace, she said:
"Lord, You are the One who sees me."
All life, as if in the palm of her hand,
In the hand of the Creator.
What the mistress persecutes,
And oppresses, has become unimportant.
Is it possible today to meet
Find those very footprints?
Oh, yes! But it would be worth answering:
Will you want to follow them?
For God's path is sometimes at sea,
It will seem there is no road.
More than once a tear will glisten in her gaze,
But the trail will never be broken.
Golgotha is the place to begin.
She, too, among the roads,
Like a faithful compass, pointed to where there are footprints, God is.
