Many of you are in Spain and have a relationship with a Spanish or EU citizen, and thanks to this relationship you can apply for a residence card for relatives of an EU citizen. As you know, this residence card is usually issued for a period of five years and can be renewed at the end of the renewal period if a number of specific conditions are met. Therefore, anyone who remains linked to a Spanish or EU citizen after these five years has the right to keep their EU family card in a personal capacity and will now receive a permanent residence card for family members of EU citizens. This card is very easy to identify, as it is the only one issued in Spain and is valid for 10 years. I HAVE A PERMANENT RESIDENCE CARD FOR A FAMILY MEMBER OF AN EU CITIZEN THAT IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE. HOW CAN I RENEW IT? If you already have a permanent residence card of a relative of an EU citizen, remember that you must renew it and keep it valid at all times, like any other residence card in Spain. In this case, it is enough to go to the competent police station and renew your physical card, that is, your plastic card, to renew it. Therefore, you do not need to initiate an administrative procedure at your city's immigration office, but simply use the procedure commonly known as "fingerprinting." In this case, the procedure is the same as for the renewal of a temporary residence permit. You must submit the following: The application form and the physical card issuance form; in particular, you must carry a duplicate of the Ex 19 form. -Copy and original of the passport. The passport must be valid. Copy and original of your permanent residence card as a family member of an EU citizen. Life-size photographs with a white background. These photographs must be recent. -Proof of payment of the fee of 790 012. This fee is currently 12 euros. To pay, you must first download the rate notification. After printing it with your data, you can pay for it at any bank.
