I'm also going to show you how to properly wash your engine without causing any damage. Yes, it's perfectly fine to wash your engine. It is extremely hard to cause any damage to your car by washing the engine.
The two main rules of thumb are always try to start with a cold engine so you have more time to work before the water evaporates. Whenever possible try to use low pressure water. If you are going to use high pressure water to wash you engine hold the wand much further away than what you would to clean your paint.
