Star Trek's warp drive is one of the key ideas when it comes to exceeding the speed of light. Can the speed of light be exceeded in our universe? Not exactly, but the warp drive, or Alcubierre drive, involves the use of a space-time bubble, which we could exploit to travel faster than the speed of light without violating physical principles. The Alcubierre drive, or warp drive like the one in Star Trek, is currently one of the most interesting methods for traveling faster than light. Let's see how it works and the difficulties involved in its implementation.
