"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" I think is the phrase that comes to mind. I don't usually post multiple runs of the same trail, but I thought this would give a good insight into how I develop my lines. At the very least, it exposes the fact that I don't just send everything that I see. Calculation and preparation is as much a part of my riding as strength and balls.

When riding a new trail (especially a technical double black) its always difficult when you don't have a local to guide you down the first run. And as much as I love getting served the best lines on a silver platter, there is something satisfying about scouting and successfully conquering a trail on your own.

Schleyer is one of those trails that is sneaky difficult. The lines don't exactly present themselves as easily as many of the other double blacks at Whistler. Even though it wasn't the most difficult trail I rode during my visit, it certainly was the one that gave me the most trouble and frustration.

I hope this video helps you get pumped to try something new. BUT PLEASE scout and plan your lines carefully so that when you actually put the rubber to the dirt you are mentally prepared to pull off the moves.

Cheers,
