Lots of classic cars have SU carbs fitted. They are fantastic carbs, and a real joy to tune and restore. It can be a real pain if you do not know what HS carb you have. Is it an HS 2, and HS4, or an HS6. There are other types of HS carbs, but I am not dealing with them here. These are the most common ones. Do you have a 'waxstat' jet? Is it supposed to have a 'waxstat?. Has it been converted? This video will help you answer those questions, so that you know which spares to order. I am not an SU guru. I have been a mechanic for 50 years, so I have worked on plenty of cars fitted with these great carbs. This video is to help classic car owners enjoy their car as much as possible.
I have done quite a few videos on my channel, about all different types of carburetors. All sorts of different jobs , which may just help you with a problem that you may have at the moment. Have a look at my channel listings , feel free to send me a message and ask if I can help (if I can I will) and think about subscribing, which means you will get a notification of any videos that I am releasing. Thank you for your help in making my channel grow.
