I Bought a DR650 From a Monk in a Monastery!
So my awesome old DR650 ran into a problem on the last Solo ADV ride in the Victorian High Country with a 4th gear issue. Luckily she saw me through right to the very end of the ride and it wasn't until I pulled out onto the home stretch after 4 days of riding that she went bang...still got me home!
By sheer coincidence the next day a mate told me about a DR650 that a Monk at his Monastery was thinking about selling.
When I returned I popped out and took a liking to the new DR and he came home with me.
Its a great bike with some solid upgrades and super clean.
I will now start the process of putting all my upgraded gear onto the new DR from my old one and then get stuck into rebuilding the old one before I move it on.
The old girl will have a fresh motor, reconditioned frame and be pretty stock for the next person wanting a reliable bike.
The new bike will have all the fruit from the old bike, a fresh motor and will take me on many more journeys!
I will continue filming the progress as I swap everything from one to the other.
