These are the same steps for Prepar3D v3 and v4.
Both of these files outlined in the video are generated files, they will generate again as default after you delete them when you launch Prepar3D. Note: You will only have a Vehiclefavorites.xml file if you have Saved a "Favorite Vehicle"
The Simobjects.cfg file is located below
Local Disk (C:) ► ProgramData ► Lockheed Martin ► Prepar3D - Simobjects.cfg
The Vehiclefavorites.xml file is located below. Note: You will only have this file if you have Saved a "Favorite Vehicle"
Local Disk (C:) ► Users ► You ► AppData ► Roaming ► Lockheed Martin ► Prepar3D - Vehiclefavorites.xml
For Windows 7, 8 and 10 users there is a quick way of finding these
Copy the TEX below and Paste it into your windows search bar, This will bring you directly to the correct location.
Use your version of Prepar3D.........

Delete these file's outlined in the video one by one and then launch Prepar3D and test
