LED Fade Effect Circuit | LED Flashing Circuit using Transistor | LED Circuit Project
A fade effect LED circuit can also be created using a transistor, such as a BJT (bipolar junction transistor) or an NPN (negative-positive-negative) type.
The transistor can be used in conjunction with a resistor and a potentiometer to control the amount of current flowing through the LED. By adjusting the position of the potentiometer, the voltage across the base-emitter junction of the transistor can be varied, which in turn controls the amount of current flowing through the LED.
This creates the fade effect as the LED appears to gradually increase or decrease in brightness. Another way is to use a microcontroller with PWM output to control the base of the transistor and thus control the current flowing through the LED.
