Raspberry Pi 4: Retropie Benchmarks

◙ Raspberry Pi 4 Specs
♦ Ram: 4 GB
♦ Operating System: Raspbian Buster
♦ Screen Resolution: 1400 x 900
♦Emulators Tested: NES, SNES, and N64
This video shows how the Raspberry Pi 4 with Retropie. I have to say for a single board computer that uses 3.4 watts of power, it ran adequately. It can't compare in performance to a full sized desktop computer with the fastest graphics card, and cpu. A desktop computer like that uses 400 to 600 watts of power, so of course you will not get the same level of performance as a powerful desktop.
Never the less, a single computer like this could be used in conjunction with your television, and you can play retro games on a large screen. It doesn't cost a lot of money, it is quiet, and it doesn't use a lot of power. I don't always want to play retro games on my desktop computer, but I would rather play it sitting next a large television. It's more nostalgic.
The performance wasn't ground breaking or anything like that; however, the games were still playable even when I ran the N64 emulator. There were definitely performance issues, like sound distortions, frame skips, and slow downs on the N64 emulator. I will make another video and test the Playstation, and other emulators on it.
