Polar Vortex -vs- Bomb Cyclone
t's not even Thanksgiving and there is already snow in the upcoming forecast. Labeled as a “bomb cyclone” this weather is being described as a step up from last years “polar vortex”. Basically there is a large amount of extremely cold air heading our way this week. It is only the first week in November and already the air is getting colder which means you should prepare for a wicked winter.
John Homenuk, a New York Metro Weather Meteorologist, discussed exactly how this weather pattern occurred and what the polar vortex and bomb cyclone have in store for the North-East.
