Long Beach Gives is a citywide, online fundraising campaign to raise awareness and inspire community giving for Long Beach nonprofits. The goal of Long Beach Gives is to inspire individuals and businesses in our community to support the exemplary work of nonprofits making a difference in Long Beach.
Last year, Long Beach Gives raised $2,071,589 million for 244 local nonprofit organizations. We invite you to explore the 16 causes represented by participating nonprofits in 2023 and plan to donate to or become a peer fundraiser on behalf of your favorite nonprofit organizations.

Long Beach Nonprofits shelter, feed, clothe, advocate for justice and equity, and keep our communities healthy and safe. They provide Long Beach with endless cultural opportunities, find homes for abandoned animals, and fight against climate change. They provide support for military families and veterans. They help individuals with disabilities find and retain employment. They care for our elderly citizens and educate our young, future leaders. Whether you've attended local arts or music events, received legal support or health care services, adopted a pet, or enrolled your child in a special after-school program, chances are high you've interfaced with a dozen or more groups. Long Beach nonprofits have continued to: offer safety-net services; find new ways to interact with our youth; advocate for positive change; strengthen mental health services and provide access to the arts as we navigate a new normal. By donating through Long Beach Gives you help to ensure they endure so that our communities can count on them in the months and years to come. Without local nonprofits working tirelessly to fulfill their missions - every day - our community would look and feel like a very different place.

Long Beach Gives Beginnings:
Long Beach Gives started as a graduate school project of Julie Meenan, Executive Director of the Josephine S. Gumbiner Foundation (JSGF). With the support of the JSGF Board and in collaboration with The Nonprofit Partnership, a Steering Committee was formed in March 2018. Early founding organizations included: Long Beach Community Foundation, The Rudolph J. and Daphne A. Munzer Foundation, The California Endowment, The Earl B. and Lorraine H. Miller Foundation, and the Arts Council for Long Beach. Along with the Josephine S. Gumbiner Foundation, these foundations guided and supported the creation of a new online, citywide, fundraising effort

Long Beach Gives goal is to inspire individuals and businesses in our community to come together to make a difference in the exemplary work of local nonprofits. With over 300 nonprofit organizations participating in Long Beach Gives in the first five years, our community has had an incredible opportunity to make a huge difference!

Highlights from Last Year Long Beach Gives:
In 2023, individuals and businesses donated a record $2,071,589 to support the work of 244 local nonprofits.
More than one-third of the 9,310 donations received during Long Beach Gives were first-time gifts to the organizations that received them, and 964 community volunteers raised $420k for local nonprofits.
