In this exceptional #COVID19 crisis, I'm launching a series of videos to try and explain as clearly as possible my current understanding of the crisis and the challenges ahead. Today, I'm focusing in particular on the central role of the effective reproduction number (Rt), and the social, economic, and political consequences of having Rt ≥ 1.
At least two more videos will follow, discussing the various interventions to reduce Rt and their effectiveness, as well as privacy-preserving contact tracing technologies like pepp-pt.org.
