We've made it to Palisade, Minnesota. The miles are starting to add up now, we've paddled a pretty long way and our hands are starting to feel it. After paddling all day, finding a "no camping" sign at a boat launch we were hoping to camp at and navigating through class one rapids in the dark we've made it to another boat launch and decide to rogue camp. We didn't get a great picture of our setup but we basically just hide behind a tree back in a corner just next to the boat ramp. We put our green mosquito net up to kind of camouflage our tent and set a map out so that people would at least maybe know we're paddlers and not just some other kind of drifters. Let's be honest, we were kind of stealth camping in plain site. We had all our things packed up like we were never there by about 830 the next morning, no complaints. We found some outlets at the pavilion and were able to charge most of our electronics and battery banks. Some local kids left us two dollars because they probably thought we were homeless. We take a walk through Palisade and have one of the best meals of our trip at Gabby's Eats and Treats. We get back on trail and paddle our way to Willow River where we go for a swim and find our camp site. Camera may not do it justice but this was one of the most beautiful camp sites of them all so far. Situated at the confluence of the Willow River and the Mississippi River, we highly recommend, but don't forget long sleeves and bug spray!
