Crowd Crush | an Experimental Short Film
Like sardines in a can, fish in a tank, urban dwellers are crammed together into big and small boxes, underwater, oxygen running out. Like in a crowd crush, they press again each other, individual movement restrained, compressing into one single homogenous cake of flesh, hurtling towards an obscure destination. Until their lungs collapse, and they are gasping for air.
In a populous metropolitan space, the agency of individuals in a crowd is especially at stake under the suffocating pressure to conform to the city’s concrete cubic construct. There is an ongoing wrestle for control over their own lives from the pre-existing program, to break away from the momentum of the crowd, and to gain self-determination.
