One phrase that we have been hearing a lot recently is "bad apples". In reaction to Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests and in an effort to downplay incidents of police brutality in the United States, some people will say that "it's just a few bad apples", meaning that the number of police officers who do bad things is very small. However, the term "bad apples" does NOT mean "a small number" and everyone is using this term incorrectly! The term actually comes from the proverb, "one bad apple spoils the barrel". Watch the video to find out what this expression REALLY means!
