FieldStation42, Raspberry Pi 90s cable TV simulation
Some footage of my 90s cable TV simulation, using the fantastic FieldStation42 project. This has a bunch of recreated 90s cable TV channels showing era-appropriate TV shows and movies, as well as a couple of channels showing present day retro shows like Stranger Things, GLOW, and Mad Men.
The cable box contains a Raspberry Pi 5 with Pimoroni NVMe Base on which the media is stored, an HDMI to RF converter, and a Pimoroni Pico Plus 2 to drive the 7-segment display, IR receiver, and buttons. The TV is a lovely little Ferguson TX 3755 14" CRT.
I've also put together a little web app that shows the day's TV listings in the style of a newspaper's TV page.
