How to make a sundial
Hey, guys in this video I will show you how to make a sundial for a school project.
ABOUT SUNDIAL:
A sundial is a device that tells the time of day when there is sunlight by the apparent position of the Sun in the sky. In the narrowest sense of the word, it consists of a flat plate and a gnomon, which casts a shadow onto the dial.
DESCRIPTION:
The simplest sundial consists of two parts: a flat plate and a gnomon (or stick) that casts a shadow on the plate. When the sundial is properly aligned it will tell the local solar time. This may have to be adjusted to find national clock time due to longitude, season, and daylight savings time.
IMPORTANT:
Face the gnomon in true north direction for accurate casting of shadow.
