Why does your motor stop the moment you let go of the Start button? Because standard outputs don't have memory. To keep a machine running, we need Latching Logic.
In this video, we explore the Set (S) and Reset (R) coils in Ladder Diagram. Known as Latch (L) and Unlatch (U) in the Allen-Bradley world, these instructions allow the PLC to "remember" a state even after the input signal is removed.
We will build a Start/Stop circuit in CoDeSys.
