Why Aidan Gillen Prefers Ensemble Casts
Best known for his roles as the manipulative Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish on "Game of Thrones" and ambitious politician Tommy Garcetti on "The Wire," it goes without saying that veteran Irish actor Aidan Gillen knows a thing or two about what it takes to get cast on prestige television. He now has taken upon the role of astronomer Josef Allen Hynek in "Project Blue Book," which premiered on History earlier this month.
In this Backstage Live clip from early in January, Aidan provides tells us of his preference for being part of ensemble casts as opposed to having a starring role, comparing the experience to being part of a large, intricate tapestry as opposed to a zoomed in portrait of one person.
