Lab 12 - File Server Quotas
Here we demonstrate how to use the Windows Server 2016 File Server Resource Manager feature called Quotas. This feature allows us to apply a maximum size limit to folder and then either:
1) send a notification when this limit is reached (or reached a threshold of the limit), or
2) apply a hard limit that cannot be exceeded which would prevent users from storing more data than what is specified in the quota.
Notifications of quotas can include email alerts to the end-user (and others if you wish), creating a log in the file servers application event log, running a script, or running a storage report.
