Bathroom Remodel Gone Wrong! : My Master Bathroom Episode 2. When we bought our home is 2014, we knew that the master bathroom was previously done quickly to sell by a "flip" contractor. These contractors often do all of the work themselves, and are usually the "handyman" type. This bathroom would pass in pictures but upon closer inspection, many shortcuts were taken: plumbing fixtures loose, big caulking joints, bad tile cuts, wrong shower pan used, no waterproofing in the shower or bench, mastic used instead of thinset in the wet areas, no edge trim for the mosaics, old lighting re-used and more.
Watch as I point all of this out, and we finally, after 3 years, get to Tear It Out! The shower hadn't been used in over 2 years, we stopped using it once we discovered mastic was used on the bench and there was no waterproofing underneath it. Luckily, this stopped any water damage from happening which could have cost thousands more!
