The Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI model) describes the universal standard of communication functions of a Networking System
OSI model is a generic model that is based upon functionalities of each layer.
The 7 Layers of the OSI Model:
Layer 1—Physical
Layer 2—Data Link
Layer 3—Network
Layer 4—Transport
Layer 5—Session
Layer 6—Presentation
Layer 7—Application.
TCP/IP model is a protocol-oriented standard.
It is a four-layered suite of communication protocols. It was developed by the DoD (Department of Defense). TCP stands for Transmission Control Protocol and IP stands for Internet Protocol.
The 7 Layers of the TCP/IP model:
Application
Transport
Network
Network Interface.
Interaction of 7 Layers of the OSI Model are shown.
Comparison between OSI Model and TCP/IP model Layers also shown in the video.
