DaVinci Resolve 21 can now edit RAW photos — and after putting this whole course together, I'm convinced it's a better RAW photo editor than Lightroom or Adobe RAW... SOMETIMES.

This is the complete ACES workflow, start to finish.

For years DaVinci Resolve has been the best color tool in the world for video. With the new Photo page in Resolve 21, that same power now works on stills — full RAW editing, node-based grading, and proper color management. So I sat down and built the full course I wish existed: how to edit RAW photos in DaVinci Resolve, the right way, using ACES.

I genuinely think Resolve beats Adobe for photos once you understand the workflow. Not because it's free — though it is — but because of what ACES and node-based editing let you do with a RAW file. By the end of this video you'll have the whole thing: importing your RAW photos, setting up a clean ACES color-managed workflow, color grading, and exporting.

If you've been looking for a Lightroom alternative, or you already live in Resolve for video and want to bring your photography into the same place — this is for you.

What we cover:
— Setting up DaVinci Resolve 21 for RAW photo editing
— Why ACES matters and how to set up an ACES workflow correctly
— Color grading RAW photos for a cinematic look

This started as a question — can Resolve really replace Lightroom? — and turned into a full course. Watch it through and decide for yourself.

Follow me as I break down the techniques!
