Nic Raboy is an advocate of modern web and mobile development technologies. He has experience in Java, JavaScript, Golang and a variety of frameworks such as Angular, NativeScript, and Apache Cordova. Nic writes about his development experiences related to making web and mobile development easier to understand.
APIs are the foundation to most modern web applications and up until recently they’ve typically been run as always available on varying server configurations. In the typical design the cost to run can become high and the process to scale can be difficult. This is where Serverless and Functions as a Service (FaaS) comes into play. In this session we’ll see how to use Node.js and Serverless Framework to build a scalable web API with AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway. We’ll explore some concepts used in a previous meetup, such as including a NoSQL database in our API for storing and accessing non-mock data.
