Motorcycles are used for basic transportation in many parts of the world, because it’s a cheap, accessible and light transportation mode. However, it is not as safe as passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Vulnerable road users, those outside the car, make up half of all global traffic fatalities today. According to the WHO, 28% of those deaths are connected to powered two and three-wheelers.
