What is a slug in WordPress?
A slug is part of your website URL that comes after the domain name. It's typically used to identify a specific page or post.
Example of slugs:
apple.com/iphone
yourwebsite.com/blog/translation-services
Setting your slug structure:
Go to your WordPress dashboard, Settings, and Permalinks.
Choose "Post name" or "Custom structure" for your blog posts.
Use the post name as the slug for best practice.
Changing slugs:
Edit the page or post you want to change.
Click on the permalink under the URL.
Change the slug to your desired text.
Update the page and view it to confirm the change.
Important tip:** Don't change slugs frequently, especially after linking to them. This can cause 404 errors.
Choose your slug structure at the beginning of your website design process.
