Does high refresh rate make you a Better gamer? Does it matter?
With the new consoles having high refresh rate support just like PCs, does it even matter or make you a better gamer? High refresh rate basically makes your screen refresh more a second. So 144 hz would be more responsive as well as smoothe. It’s really hard to say it in words but you have to see it in person to get the full experience. The higher refresh rate, the lower latency you get as well. Since the screen is refreshing more, your enemy will pop up faster and is more precise when they’re moving. How much of a difference does latency make? Well, not as much as you would expect. Input lag is important, sure, but your internet and settings make a bigger impact than your monitors refresh rate for latency. Also, if your hardware is putting out more fps than your monitor, although it wouldn’t show more smoothness, it would still have lower latency. What’s more important however is the smoothness.
