To capture gameplay from your PS4 using a capture card, you often need to disable HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). HDCP is a digital copy protection system that prevents unauthorized recording of content. When enabled, it typically results in a "no signal" or black screen on your capture card.

Here's how to turn HDCP on or off on your PS4:

How to Turn ON or OFF HDCP on PS4
Connect your PS4 directly to a TV or monitor via HDMI.
It's important to do this first, as disabling HDCP might cause a temporary black screen or prevent your capture card from displaying anything until it's properly disabled.

From your PS4's home screen, press Up on your controller to access the Function Screen (the top row of icons).

Scroll to the far right and select Settings (the toolbox ⚙️ icon).
In the Settings menu, scroll down and select System.
Within the System menu, locate and select the option "Enable HDCP".
To turn HDCP OFF:

Uncheck the box next to "Enable HDCP."

You might get a message stating that some applications (like Netflix, Hulu, Blu-ray playback, etc.) cannot be used if HDCP is disabled. Confirm your choice.

Your screen might flicker or go black momentarily as the setting changes.
To turn HDCP ON:
Check the box next to "Enable HDCP."
This is the default setting and is required for streaming apps and playing protected media.

Once you've made your change, you can now reconnect your PS4 to your capture card (PS4 HDMI Out -- Capture Card HDMI In, Capture Card HDMI Out -- TV/Monitor).
