A Call to the Path of the Lord. Part 1 of 3 | Nouman Ali Khan (rus sub)
Over the next few weeks, in sha Allah, I'm going to focus on the lessons we can learn from the 125th verse of Surah al-Nahl.
And what I'd like to do in this series of khutbahs is talk about a truly multifaceted passage in the Quran, where Allah has given many different lessons scattered throughout the Quran and combined them into one verse. Let me first translate it for you so you can understand the general meaning of what it says. And then we'll move on to a detailed analysis, which I think everyone can benefit from, including myself.
"Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good exhortation, and debate with them in the best way. Indeed, your Lord knows best who has strayed from His path, and knows best who is guided." (Surah 16, "The Bees," verse 125)
So, a lot has been said here, but you could say the theme of the verse is calling people to the path of Allah. (ادْعُ إِلَى سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ) - Muslims usually call this "doing da'wah (دعوة)." Right? Da'wah and spreading knowledge about Allah is directed at both Muslims and non-Muslims. It's not limited to just those who believe in Allah or just those who don't; we also do da'wah to each other.
