We here at Vevo HQ have been trying to tell you all about Jared Lee since he had a head full of dreads and was dropping R&B-influenced alt-hop with wild titles like “TAMAGOTCHI.” That was like 2018. During the pandemic, the fashionista comic book nerd set up some cams at Chez Duckwrth and captured Ctrl at Home performances that featured tracks from his super good ‘Super Good’ album. In hindsight, it’s a miracle the former art school student could stay in his chair. Just LOOK at the energy here. We once observed that Duckwrth has an “aura similar to that of André 3000 or Frank Ocean.” High praise that holds true, more so now than ever. Between attending Paris runway shows and posting thirst traps on Insta, Team Duckwrth rolled into our studio for head-bop-inducing takes of “We Outside” and “No Chill.” They’re the one-two punch that kicks off ‘SG8*,’ a must-hear project we've really fallen for.
