Echoes From the Past, a Full Composition Created with OP-1.
This is my first full-track composition, composed solely on OP-1. I wrote it dubbing and mixing on its digital tape's four tracks, using 10 different sound and beat types. One of the sound types, the oceanic wave, was sampled from an actual sound I recorded a few years ago in Cornwall. The video shows the mixing of the final performance, which is simultaneously recorded on the built-in album. The audio is the pure music OP-1 output saved on an AIF file, taken from the performance of this video. The knob rotations for the mixer were to gradually increase/decrease the volume on different tracks, as well as to control the propagation of the oceanic wave from left to right sides, to get the additional spatial effect.
