Have you ever felt like you're doing everything you're supposed to be doing, but you're still not making the progress you want?
I've been feeling that way for a while.
I've been learning, listening to podcasts, consuming personal development content, trying to improve myself—and yet somehow I still felt stuck. I kept telling myself I didn't have enough time to create, think, or actually do the things that mattered to me.
Then I started asking myself a different question:
What if I don't have a productivity problem? What if I have a consumption problem?
I decided to run a little experiment. I removed social media from my phone for seven days and started paying attention to what happened when I stopped filling every quiet moment with something to consume.
What I discovered surprised me.
My anxiety started coming down. My mornings felt different. I stopped constantly reaching for my phone. I started getting hours of my day back—and, maybe more importantly, I started realizing how much of my life I'd been spending consuming instead of creating.
And it wasn't just social media.
It was podcasts. YouTube. TV. Notifications. News. Information. Even things that were technically “good for me.”
I started realizing that consumption can look incredibly productive while still keeping you stuck.
So in this episode, I'm talking through what I've learned so far about social media, doomscrolling, overstimulation, attention, productivity, and the difference between consuming information and actually living your life.
I'm not telling you to delete your phone.
I'm not telling you that social media is evil.
I'm just sharing what I'm figuring out in my own life—and inviting you to be a fly on the wall while I work through it.
Because maybe you don't need another productivity hack.
Maybe you don't need another book, podcast, course, or morning routine.
Maybe you need to remove something.
If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, distracted, anxious, or like you're constantly trying to improve yourself without actually feeling better, this one might be worth sitting with.
