Messy customer lists in Google Sheets are the kind of chore nobody wants to touch — inconsistent capitalization, mixed phone formats, lowercase emails that aren't lowercase, and the occasional duplicate row hiding in plain sight. This tutorial walks through using Claude as the cleanup engine, pasting raw data in and getting a tidy CSV back. By the end, you'll be able to take a dirty sheet and produce a fully standardized "claude cleaned" tab sitting right next to the original.

Covered inside:
→ Opening the starter spreadsheet and selecting the full dirty data table for copying.
→ Writing the cleanup prompt in Claude and pasting the messy table beneath it.
→ Grabbing the CSV response, whether the copy button appears or you select it manually.
→ Creating a new sheet tab, renaming it claude cleaned, and pasting CSV into cell A1.
→ Comparing names, emails, phone numbers, and signup dates across both tabs for consistency.
→ Reviewing the cleanup note column to spot the flagged duplicate Priya Singh row.

Did you write your own cleanup prompt from scratch or use the pinned one? Curious which approach gave you better results.
